I've downloaded the latest release candidate for the 3.2 version of
OpenLaszlo. I would like to utilize this version in my Eclipse
development environment. Unfortunately, when I try to change the LPS Web
Root setting in the Laszlo settings dialog, I'm told that the root doesn't
exist (which it does) or that it doesn't point to a 3.0 version. Is there
a good workaround to this problem? I tried just renaming the 3.2
installation to the same name that was being used by 3.1.1, but that
failed. Obviously the plugin is looking for something in that directory
to tell it that the directory is 3.0 compatible.

Thanks!

Yes - the IDEforLaszlo is only valid for 3.1x releases. When 3.2
releases, the IDEforLaszlo will need to be recompiled to work with
the new version of OpenLaszlo. This work hasn't happened yet, though.

There are instructions on the http://www.eclipse.org/laszlo web pages
about building the IDEforLaszlo and upgrading it to run with a new
version of OpenLaszlo. We'd love to have someone in the community do
this and contribute the builds (for both JDK 1.4 and JDK 1.5).

If anyone has an interest in doing this... I'd love to hear from you!

I also had error message "Specified LPS web root is not valid. Or
LPS version is not 3.1". My LPS version is 3.2rc3 actually. The
solution is to create an empty 'filetomaketheIDEwork3.1.txt' file
in /WEB-INF/lib directory. The trick is in '3.1' number :) After
that IDE accept your 3.2 web root.

We at Laszlo have *not* tested this.
